This is pretty self explanatory, but since I've never actually made a tutorial before, I'm worried I may have overlooked certain things or perhaps I haven't explain it clear enough. If you have any questions, you're welcomed to ask and I'll do my best to help!
This is just the basic shape, but I'll make another one as soon as I sew on a collar and make the pockets.
Tip - You can always look at your own jackets or shirts to see how the sleeve connects with the shoulder, I did that too, but make sure you sew them in the order I suggested, because it's easier.
Don't panic if it doesn't look good at first, try again! It may look easy in the tutorial, but it's actually a pain in the ass. Believe me, though, it's worth it. <3
Download it for better quality and to be able to read the smaller text!

Anyway, thanks so much for the tutorial, a friend thanks you.
Love you expression saying "Somebody help me!!"
(Sorry if my english is bad >__<)
And thank you! I'm really happy to hear my tutorials help people,
it's the reason why I made them, so for me this is always an
accomplishment. Please tell your friend I said I wish her good luck
with her costume and a great time cosplaying!
And my friend sends you greetings!
but if you mean whether they should be touching AFTER you sew on the sleeves, for this kind
of jacket it doesn't really matter, because the jacket needs to stay open anyway. For other types
of jackets (with zippers, buttons, etc), they should reach each other so you can zip or button up
the jacket.
If you meant whether they should be touching when you sew the sleeves, it doesn't really matter,
you just need to pay attention to the shoulders, the armpit (the ends need to meet there to cover
the hole your arm goes through), then you sew down the side.
I hope this helped, I'm not too great at explaining.
hope you have lots of fun cosplaying!
Well, you can look at my AoT Jacket Tutorial - details. I show how to sew a collar there, but instead of folding it downwards, you can just leave it sticking up, then sew two little belts at the middle of it to keep it closed around your neck. All collars should normally stick up if we didn't fold them, so you can push up / unfold a collar from a dress shirt to see how it'll look, for better guidance.
If you can't figure it out, I could try to draw a sketch for you. Good luck!
You just saved my ass, haha. <3
Thanks!
You can go to a store which sells only fabrics ( preferably a larger one, because they have a wider variety there ), and either ask for leather imitation or artificial leather / synthetic leather for jackets. It has to be just a little bit thick, sometimes a little elastic and soft. The underside usually has a different fabric, a dark, softer one, and the one above is just like leather.
It can be a bit pricey, though, but it's worth it because it's easy to work with and it seems strong, your jacket will last longer and it'll look better.
Google a fabric store in your area, or ask a local seamstress for help. Explain what you want to do with the fabric, and I'm sure they'll give you the right one! It's usually the type of fabric most 'leather' jackets are made of, not the real leather jackets, but the artificial ones.
Good luck!
And I'm happy I helped!
